Biodiesel is a non-toxic, non-hazardous material.  Because biodiesel is renewable, especially when it is made from used cooking oils; it lowers the fuels carbon footprint.  For example, the California Air Resources Board has stated that biodiesel made from used cooking oils, have shown an 85 percent reduction in carbon emissions versus diesel fuel.  In addition, for every 100 gallons of biodiesel used, about one metric ton of carbon green house gases (a gas that emits radiation), are prevented from releasing into the earths atmosphere.
